Manners of Respect

For a long time now I have shared with the people in my day to day life, the lessons in showing respect. The way I have been brought up and what I have learnt has been lessons that I have learned throughout my forty years as a child to an adult.

I have two children  of my own, my eldest is fourteen now and the other is nineteen months, so I am in the process of guiding my youngest in the direction of good manners.

My eldest is a blessing so far as he has shown and proven on many occasions to me and to a lot of people that I have raised with other members of my family a well brought up teenager.

Please, may I and thank you are words I use constantly with them.

I will give an example...

Can I have a drink.

I would have my son say instead: May I have a drink please.

Anyone can have a drink I would say to him.But may you have a drink. Saying may instead of can, is asking for something with an approach of politeness.

The reason I am sharing this topic with all of you is, I recently received a complement that needed to be shared.

It was said to me...

"I understand now why you taught me manners. Having manners shows people you have respect for them."

What more can I say. Except thank you.

Remarkable Following

Today I received the biggest complement. I have my own Twitter site and I was surprised that many of the celebrities are wanting to read what I have to say.

I was in awe just seeing the emails come through to me on my personal account and the direct messages that were sent to me. I received twenty nine alerts that people were following me.

I thank them all for following and helping me on my quest.

My mood: pretty blessed

A Lion Called Christian

You may all be sick of hearing about him, or me writing about him and seeing the "Reunion Clip. But what you all may not be aware of, is why I am writing about him. Well if you look more closely at the clip, you would see what I saw.

What I saw was a natural euphoric moment during my very own lifetime. I have been blessed to have witnessed a profound existence of glorious love and beauty. This is a rare moment of unconditional love.

A Lion Called Christian on Channel Seven,

Tuesday, 5th May at 7.30pm (Sydney)

Christian The LionChristian The Lion

If you are one of the 55 million people who have seen the You Tube video of  "The Reunion." featuring  an adolescent lion called Christian with his two gentlemen owners Anthony "Ace" Burke and John Rendall who after spending one year apart meet again. If you ever had wonderful memories of Born Free,  and saw The Lion King, then you will not want to miss this wonderful amazing story.

This documentary provides the details to what really took place and the aftermath of, this extraordinary event. It all started in 1969 which is (Perfect.. As I was born in 1969 too!)  Christian the lion was  purchased by department store, Harrods in the UK.  The  two  Australian gentlemen, Anthony Ace Bourke and John Rendall, purchased him and put Christian the lion in the car and drove home.

Christian, is a fifth generation zoo born cub,  he lived  with  Ace and John in a flat above a furniture shop.  On Kings Row  is where Christian  spent many parts of his days playing in the basement and where he used his  kitty litter tray. Christian loved football and cuddling up. He  exercised in the  cemetery which had a large  wall that circled  right round. The son of the vicar allowed the playful lion cub to run free on the cemetery  grounds. As you can see in the clip.

By six months, Christian was eating three kilograms of meat a day. By eight months he was weighing 70kilos. Ace and John realised that  Christian was becoming a handful and he was  already in his adolescent  years. Christian was growing up. So as to rehabilitate him back to the wild Ace and John began this journey to set him free to the wild. They did not consider ever sending him to the zoo or  circus.

A  meeting with the stars of Born Free, Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers, helped them meet  lion conservationist George Adamson and his wife Joy Adamson, (who Travers and McKenna play the part in the movie), which led to the Christian's  freedom and  the famous  "The Reunion" clip as seen on You Tube .http://www.youtube.com/BellasGrace

The show is packed with interviews of  all the people  who knew Christian, The furniture shop owners  and cleaning lady at Kings Row. The son of the vicar who loaned out the cemetery as a playground for Christian. The  Harrods saleswoman,  who sold Christian to  Ace and John. Also Virginia McKenna and stacks more. The documentary is captivating. The footage of this wonderful event is  a euphoric moment caught on film.
